"This wonderful kit contains everything you need to get started on your origami adventures. […] The instructions are all clear and concise, perfect for anyone who wants to learn this age-old art of paper folding. Kids of all ages can choose from a variety of origami crafts, ranging from traditional cranes to more modern designs like airplanes and flowers." —AllFreeKidsCrafts.com blog"The Perfect Kit for Beginners — Everything You Need Is in This Box! Includes an Easy-to-Use Instruction Book, DVD and 62 Folding Papers for 19 Exciting Projects. Do not worry about getting stuck! The DVD is very easy to follow, unlike many of the videos out there. You will take your folding to the next level. Explore a variety of projects including traditional, money, modular, paper airplane, animal, modern and wet folding. Below, Kanji the Dog is folded from a single 6 inch blue square from the kit. Paper in 3 sizes, a variety of solid colors. There's even replica dollar bills for money folds. No scissors or glue required." —Handmade by Deb blog"If you enjoy the art of paper folding, or Origami, then one of the best sources of instruction is Michael G. LaFosse. The Ultimate Origami for Beginners Kit is excellent for both beginners and children. World-renowned origami designers and artists Michael G. LaFosse and Richard L. Alexander have selected paper folding projects from popular origami categories such as traditional origami, modern origami, origami flowers, paper airplanes, cute cuddly animals and much more!" —Suzy's Artsy Craftsy Sitcom blog"You get to sit behind LaFosse's shoulder, watch and follow along as he patiently guides you through the simple as well as more tricky steps, providing tips and techniques for better results. This will enable even beginners to get a grasp on slightly more advanced designs. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to dip their toes into origami!" —Gilad's Origami Page blog"The projects are geared towards beginners but not necessarily children. The kit actually includes a wide range of difficulty. […] When the book instructions were difficult to follow, they watched the videos on the included DVD. The videos are excellent and really helpful if you find the instructions confusing." —Omiyage Blog blog"This set is perfect for anyone interested in Japanese art in general—but especially in learning Japanese origami (art of paper folding). I'm not very good at origami…but I was able to fold many things by following the steps on the DVD and in the book!" —Tokyo Five blog"Ultimate Origami for Beginners is not your average beginner's guide. It includes a substantial booklet with easy-to-follow directions for somewhat more advanced beginner items—an oxymoron I realize—but I say that because this is not the cup, the crane, the box. The booklet includes flowers, animals (baby dinosaur, seahorse), airplanes, and dollar folds. Not to worry, though, the instructions are thoroughly illustrated and described. Plus if you're really stuck, there's a DVD guide to take you through the steps one-by-one." —8asians.com blog"It's the first kit to introduce all the various forms of origami that are popular today. No matter what your skill level is in paper folding, be sure you check out this kit today; you're sure to learn something new!" —AllFreepaperCrafts blog

I purchased this for my 7 year old daughter and she was so excited!! She loves origami and this came with everything she needs! Step by step instructions, paper, fake dollars to learn how to fold bills and a dvd!

Bought for my six years old who has been doing simple origami but this set is too complicated for her. Thought its for beginners

I bought this for a friend who recently had brain surgery. She is having to re-learn how to write and her occupational therapists suggested this is a good way and fun way to go through therapy. As a side benefit, she has grandkids and I thought that once she learned how to make an origami dinosaur or duck or flower she'd have a fun time teaching them how to do it. The included DVD makes this an especially good bargain.

Fantastic children's guide to being more artistic...Loved buying this gift for a young, sick child in the children's hospital for Christmas. Boring moments that can be filled with color, imagination, creativity, and lot of beauty!

It was a little harder to follow for my 9 year old son than expected. Even with the video it was hard for me to follow.

I wanted something for my 8 year old daughter to try as she loves crafts. Unfortunately neither one of us were able to follow the directions for the dollar star and we were so frustrated we haven't tried anything else. Maybe we should have started with something easier, or maybe the directions just weren't clear enough.

I have always wanted to learn this art form!Michael G. LaFosse'so kit is so perfect. Nothing was overlooked:DVD, well written instructions book, great photo "examples", piles of paper in great colors. If you've an interest in ORIGAMI , THIS IS THE KIT YOU WANT. YOU WON'T NEED TO BUY ANOTHER THING! 🔖↪↩WELL DONE!👏

Seller was great, product as described.Gave a 3 only be cause it is a little difficult for a child to follow.I wouldn't say that it is for anyone below the age of 10. The steps are a little complicated. But my child loves it.

About the Author

Jan Karon, born Janice Meredith Wilson in the foothills of North Carolina, was named after the title of a popular novel, Janice Meredith.Jan wrote her first novel at the age of ten. "The manuscript was written on Blue Horse notebook paper, and was, for good reason, kept hidden from my sister. When she found it, she discovered the one curse word I had, with pounding heart, included in someone's speech. For Pete's sake, hadn't Rhett Butler used that very same word and gotten away with it? After my grandmother's exceedingly focused reproof, I've written books without cussin' ever since."Several years ago, Karon left a successful career in advertising to move to the mountain village of Blowing Rock, North Carolina, and write books. "I stepped out on faith to follow my lifelong dream of being an author," she says. "I made real sacrifices and took big risks. But living, it seems to me, is largely about risk."Enthusiastic booksellers across the country have introduced readers of all ages to Karon's heartwarming books. At Home in Mitford, Karon's first book in the Mitford series, was nominated for an ABBY by the American Booksellers Association in 1996 and again in 1997. Bookstore owner, Shirley Sprinkle, says, "The Mitford Books have been our all-time fiction bestsellers since we went in business twenty-five years ago. We've sold 10,000 of Jan's books and don't see any end to the Mitford phenomenon."

a continual feast by jan karona lot of different inspirational things collectedfrom Father Tim over the years from others in the parish.

Great words of wisdom. The only part of the book I don't like, is that it is like a copy of Father Tim's journal and much of it is like copied long hand, handwriting and sometimes harder to read...but it is kind of neat, because it feels like reading over his shoulder into his personal journal of inspiring letters and inspiring passages he has collected, but I would have preferred regular typeface.

I love anything written by Jan Karon. A Continual Feast is is full of comfort as noted in title. Written as though Father Tim wrote it himself. I really enjoy reading through this from time to time.

This is like reading a notebook that Father Tim has that he writes sayings, quotes, verses, and poems. It is written in his "handwriting" and what he would sometimes base his sermons on. It is a wonderful book to add to your collection. It is part of The Mitford series written by Jan Karon.

The book was in excellent condition. If you are a Father Tim fan you will want to add this book to your collection. I LOVE it! Purchased used.

What a wonderful compilation by Jan Karon, one of my favorite authors. The book is inspiring and alsoshows a little more of what Father Tim was thinking and believing. Choose this book to send to a shut-inyou know ---it will help the person feel better...more hopeful, and comforted. It also draws one to understandmore about God and what He desires of us as His children. Well put together, I am enjoying this book.

Saying encouraging words fun read

I didn't realize that this book was handwritten and not a typed or printed book. It's like you picked up someone's (Father Tim's) pages of handwritten notes containing positive thoughts. Do you need a mental or spiritual lift? Pick up this book and turn to any page for encouragement and enlightenment.

I just love jan karon books. I bought for a present

One of my all-time favorite baseball players but I had never read a biography about him until now. Considering that I grew up in Brooklyn during the "golden era of NYC baseball" this volume was especially interesting even though I've always been a Yankees fan and idolized Mickey Mantle.Like all of us, Willie the human being was far from perfect even though I still feel that he is the best all-around baseball player who I've ever seen. Every year one hears that some rookie is the "next Willie Mays". So far, I haven't seen anyone better as a "five tool" player.Even if you never saw Willie play, if you're a baseball fan this is a must-read.

Take it from a baseball fan of over 50 years and a baseball historian of some note: This is a great book and one of the best baseball biographies I've ever read. The author has done an outstanding job of capturing the essence of the man, Willie Mays, and the magnificant yet tragically flawed era, the 1950's and 60's, in which he played. Don't pay any attention to the any of the low rated reviews (I'm wondering if they actually read the same book I did!) If you love baseball and baseball history, you're going to love this one. Some reviewers say the author spends too much time on the Civil Rights era and not enough time on Mays himself. Huh?? Here's a quote from one:"...what the reader gets is a history of Civil Rights, Jim Crow Laws, and a period in American that most people would soon forget. Less than 25% of book is devoted to the story behind Willie Mays, his fellow ball players, and the game itself."To me, this is a totally unjustified criticism. How could one possibly write a definitive biography about an African-American superstar, agruably the greatest player of all time, who broke into the Major Leagues in 1951 just a few years after Jackie Robinson, and ignore this important topic, or fail to develop it fully. What credible author would produce a biography like that? Can you imagine the criticism? A major part of Willie Mays' career and personality was formed by the racial context of the America in which he lived and played, and how he reacted to that context. It's an important part of his story. My favorite part of the book is the description of the relationship between Mays and manager Leo Durocher, developed beautifully by the author. We learn that the affection was mutual and was most definitely real. Durocher, a Hall of Fame manager, and his wife, the lovely actress Lorraine Day, loved Mays like a son. This in itself was quite progressive in the racially-charged 1950's. I'm quite certain that Durocher's greatest contribution to baseball was taking a young, naive Willie Mays under his wing when he was the most vulnerable - at the very beginning of his career, when his success at the Major League level was very much in doubt. He knew when to massage Willie's fragile ego and how to build his confidence, inserting himself into Mays' life as surrogate father, and allowing him to develop into one of the game's all-time greats.Read this wonderful exchange between Mays and Durocher when Leo found Mays crying, after starting out his career 1 for 24:"Mr. Leo," Mays said, "I can't help you. I can't even get a hit. I know I can't play up here, and you're gonna send me back to Minneapolis. That's where I belong. I don't belong up here. I can't play up here..."Leo responded:"What do you mean you can't hit? You're going to be a great ballplayer! Look son. I brought you up here to do one thing. That's to play center field. You're the best center fielder I've ever looked at. Willie, see what's printed across my jersy? (Mays nodded). It says Giants. As long as I'm the manager of the Giants, you're my center fielder. Today, tomorrow, next week, next month. You're here to stay."It's hard to imagine what may have happened to Willie Mays had Durocher not been there to guide him as he made the difficult transition to the Majors. Durocher would never hesitate to proclaim that Mays was the greatest player he ever saw (and he saw a lot - his career went all the way back to the Yankees of Babe Ruth in 1925). This led to one of my all-time favorite baseball quotes. Extolling Mays' virtues, Leo once blurted out (paraphrasing):"He can run, he can hit, he can hit with power, he can throw, he can catch...if he could cook, I'd marry him!"To say that this book doesn't cover Willie's negatives as well as his positives (as some reviewers have said) is again just not accurate. Actually just the opposite is much closer to the truth. I felt that I came to know Willie Mays the man - warts and all. Like all of us, Willie Mays had his flaws and was far from perfect. I'm much more aware of that now after reading this book. To me, that's the making of an excellent biography. I don't want a sanitized version...I want the truth.Other reviewers imply that the book is too long. That criticism may have some justification. But I found myself enjoying the book more and more as I went along. I don't feel any topic was overplayed, and I can't imagine editing out any sections.Overall, this is an excellent biography. I'm glad that I read all 556 pages, and I would heartily recommend it to all.

Utilizing over one hundred interviews, several thousand articles in magazines and newspapers, documentaries about Mays, and the cooperation of Mays himself, James Hirsch has produced the first major biography of the great Giant centerfielder. It is well-written, engaging, and entertaining. Beginning with his early years in Birmingham, Alabama, moving to Mays’ time in the black major leagues, focusing on his major league career in New York and San Francisco, and ending with his life after baseball, the author presents a portrait of a complex individual who needed praise and encouragement, not criticism, to perform at his best. Leo Durocher, his first manager, understood this, but not all of his successors did. Hirsch thoroughly covers Mays’ career. There is “the catch” in the 1954 World Series, the daring base running (e.g., scoring from second twice on groundouts to first base and scoring from first on a bunt), the throws from the outfield that cut down runners at third base and home plate, the four homers in one game, the 1962 pennant race, his role as peacemaker in the Juan Marichal-John Roseboro incident, and his return to New York in a Mets uniform. We see Mays being mentored by Monte Irvin early in Willie’s career, only later to serve the same role to Jim Ray Hart and Bobby Bonds. Hirsch brings out Mays’ not wanting to face Ralph Branca as Willie waited in the on-deck circle with Bobby Thomson at the plate in the crucial third playoff game with the Dodgers in 1951. Mays would soon overcome this fear and relish the role of being at the plate when the game and/or the season were on the line. Hirsch does not overlook the troubled times in the life of Mays. He discusses Jackie Robinson’s criticism of Mays for not using his high profile position to publicly speak out for civil rights. Whenever Mays experienced discrimination, he did not publicize the incident, not wanting to draw attention to himself. He let his play on the field win white fans over to his side. The author also deals with the years of struggle it took Mays to win over the fans in San Francisco. Nevertheless, some in the press continued to attack him as an overpaid, underproductive ball player, especially during crunch time. Mays had a rocky road with the reporters, not trusting them and refusing to reveal his inner self to them. He also suffered from a disastrous first marriage, faced bankruptcy in the early 1960s despite being the highest paid player in the game, and was ostracized from baseball from 1979 to 1984 when he became a greeter at an Atlantic City casino. Hirsch also does not neglect Mays’ relationship with his godson, Barry Bonds, and the issue of steroids. After his career ended, Mays even faced the innuendo that he had used amphetamines during his playing days. Mays the human being is shown by his love for children and teenagers. He would constantly visit hospitals to see the sick, giving boys and girls autographed baseballs or pictures as well as words of encouragement. He would speak to youth groups, telling them not to smoke or drink (neither of which he did) and providing community groups with sports equipment. He even reached out to troubled youth, including a teenage O. J. Simpson, who was running with a gang, but he refused to testify as a character witness at Simpson’s murder trial. He would help friends without asking for anything in return. The author concludes that “Ruth was baseball’s most dominant player; Mays was its greatest master.” (553) Not only could Mays run, field, throw, hit, and hit for power, he was one of the most intelligent men to play baseball. Before there were pitching and hitting charts, Mays studied pitchers to see what they would throw in certain situations and hitters in order to correctly position himself in the outfield. Some of his greatest catches were made because of where he positioned himself in the outfield prior to the pitch. His endurance is seen in an unequalled streak of 13 seasons of playing in 150 or more games. Among his records are for at-bats, hits, total bases, and runs scored in the All-Star game. Unfortunately, like many other superstars, he stayed in the game too long, and the last memory of this great defensive outfielder was his misjudging a fly ball and pleading on his knees of an umpire’s call at home plate in the second game of the 1973 World Series. This is a must read for those interested in baseball biography and baseball in the 1950s and 1960s.

It's fair to say that among the pantheon of sports heroes few are less celebrated in print and video than Willie Mays. Taking an objective look at his accumulated statistics, one cannot help but wonder why. But you can lose yourself in the magnificent numbers and completely ignore the real story, Willie Mays the man.Mr. Hirsch has written a biography that embraces the person as well as the ballplayer. What separates Mays from the rest was the passion and energy with which he played the game. In this excellent biography the reader comes to know the man behind the uniform. I have read numerous books in this genre, but none come as close to painting the portrait. Even if you think you know Mays, and even if, like me, you grew up watching him play, this work will grow your appreciation of him. Five stars fully earned in these pages.

Sara Lost and Found, by Virginia Castleman

Review

Castleman knows the foster care system well—she was adopted when she was six from an orphanage. She wrote this story to draw attention to the flawed foster care system and to give a voice to foster and adopted kids. Sara’s story will tug at heart strings; readers will cheer for her to succeed, for she is a heroine in the style of The Great Gilly Hopkins (HarperCollins, 2004). This book is a must for middle school readers (Judith A. Hayn VOYA, Starred Review)

Sara Lost and Found follows main character Sara, and her older sister Anna through the many struggles of the foster care system. As described by Castleman herself, this book is inspired by actual events that happened to her as a child of parental abandonment and her journey through foster care systems. With that in mind, I felt this book beautifully explicates a very difficult subject matter to young readers, allowing insight and understanding of what it's really like to have your life shaken, and the compassion and love that defines sisterhood. Every page in this book is loaded with meaning and Castleman's style of writing solicits discussion into the deeper symbolism of the text.I personally loved this book and would suggest it to teachers and parents who really want to help develop their children's sympathy towards those around them.

Tough read. Well written as I felt such empathy for the girls. Glad it ended the way it did though it could easily have gone another way

Super fast delivery. great quality

Sara, age 10 and her sister Sister Anna, age 12 are abandoned by their parents. Their mother left home with barely a goodbye and their father was is in jail and struggles with drug addiction. Soon the sisters, despite their pleas, are placed in foster care. Sara, although younger, protects her older sister who is fragile from all of the trauma she has been through and we learn that this is their second time through the foster care system.Although the author, with her clear and crisp writing, allows us to feel the sisters intense pain over their losses and beautifully describes the conflict that Sara goes through as she realizes that her sister needs more help than she can give, I found it hard to fully immerse myself in the story. All I could think was that I have never heard or seen the social welfare system work as well as in this book. As a social worker I have seen hundred's of children go through the foster care system and it does not look like this. It is possible to have one good foster parent but I have not seen any kids go through the foster system (especially twice) and have such caring, astute, loving adults in their lives. Being in foster care is hard, and often borders on its own kind of neglect so it just felt surreal to read this story. So, three stars because of the portraits of two sisters who love each other, for a story that conveys the sadness and trauma of severe neglect but hampered by the picture perfect account of the foster system. Thank you to Netgalley and Simon and Schuster for allowing me to review this book for an honest opinion.

Their mama left them a while ago and their daddy leaves them for long stretches at a time. The two girls know not to answer the door if anyone comes knocking and they know how to survive when the food runs out. They let their imaginations take control as they chew on stolen paper towels. These towels become a juicy cheeseburgers and long succulent hot dogs; it’s something that they trained their mind to do as they chew on the dry bits of cloth. The girls have each other as their mama told them to take care of each other and they can do just that.Their story broke my heart. It seemed to begin when mama had been arrested for DUI and the girls were placed in separate foster homes. This separation broke Anna. The happy, fun- loving Anna returned to her sister Sara, broken and withdrawn with marks on her arms. She would not speak about what happened to her inside the walls of her foster home. The girls have had other experiences with foster families, some negative and some positive but their favorite place to be, is with the Silverman’s. They were grandparents to them. Daddy tries to be a good father but the bottle always calls for him and he answers, leaving him in shambles. He picks himself up, pays the price and tries to undo the damage that he has caused and starts over again. The bottle rules his world. The girls know the routine and with mother gone, they would rather stay home alone than be placed in foster care.Home alone, the girls are startled when police and Child Services come to their door. Sneaking out, the girls take to the streets. They are welcomed at the Silverman’s, their first stop; a stop the girls wished would be their last. I loved the warmth and the gentleness that this relationship bestowed. Their father is in jail and the girls must be placed in temporary foster care so they are now moved to another home. In their new temporary home, the parents try to provide a loving environment and the girls try to adjust to their new home. Anna has difficulties, she lashes out and they are moved sooner than originally planned. I hated to see these children moved as if they were items instead of people with feelings and emotions. I realize that this is what happens in foster care, children being moved around but it was hard reading about the emotions these children were feeling. The girls just wanted to go home with their father where they had a routine, a routine that was familiar and comfortable for them but was not ideal for them. These children needed stability and love and someone to provide that for them. The title speaks for itself with Sara and as for Anna, she needed someone to help her overcome the issues that she was confronting so she could be successful. I really enjoyed this novel. I liked how it touched on foster care and the children who are affected by it.

Sara Lost and Found is an enjoyable, adventurous, and insightful book for children ages 10 to 99. As a family psychotherapist, I will highly recommend Sara Lost and Found to adoptive and foster parents as a guide to help them understand the trauma that is unique to foster and adopted children. In addition, I often work with adults in helping them re-parent their abusive pasts, and Sara Lost and Found will make a wonderful companion for these adults, who are on their transformational journey of healing from their childhoods. Also, I highly recommend this book to children who share a similar path to either Sara or Anna, and highly recommend it to children who would like to understand the "road' of a child whose path may have been different from theirs. Thus, I view Sara Lost and Found to fit into a number of populations and would rate it a "must read"! I also highly recommend that Virginia Castleman creates public readings of her book.

Overall Rating: A ... Heat: SizzlingJust in time for Halloween, Hot and Haunted is full of sexy and scary delights. Spooky and a tad creepy, while also managing to rev up your libido, this anthology was such a wonderful surprise! If there is such a thing as erotica-horror, then these three tales are excellent examples of it. And while I may have picked this one up because of Miz Hart's name on the cover--I'm happy to have found two new author's I want to read more from!+ Nothing Else Matters by Megan Hart - Rating: AThe story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world teeming with zombies, where every man and woman is simply fighting to survive. One such survivor is Lira, our heroine. Immune to the spores that change people from human to one of the Resurrected, Lira is in charge of making runs to gather up food and supplies for her small group. A job that definitely takes its toll on her... and makes her crave skin to skin action with her lover/boyfriend, Anthony, whenever she makes it back alive. Which is never a guarantee, so those two always make the most of their time together.Nothing Else Matters has a vivid end-of-the-world setting, a heroine who is strong and adaptable, a hero who is understanding and isn't afraid to say 'I love you', zombies, sex, sex, and more sex. It quickly engages you and draws you in. It will turn you on and, well, freak you out as well. If I was a nail biter, a few scenes would've had me chewing on them pretty darn good. Miz Hart's story packs quite the compact punch.+ Pick Me Up by Lauren Hawkeye - Rating: BHolly is a woman scorned, out for some revenge. Standing in the middle of the road in a white dress while it pours down rain, she waits for some unsuspecting man to rescue her. That man ends up being Brody, a hot geek that's totally unprepared for the passenger he picks up. After getting his car stuck in a ditch, Holly and Brody get to really know each other while they wait for a tow.Pick Me Up puts a new spin on hitchhiking, that's for sure. And even though it isn't so much a 'feel good' story, it was still very steamy and titillating. My only issue was Holly, as she isn't a terribly likeable heroine. She says and does some things that made me feel sorry for Brody. I'm also not 100% sure about the ending (which I believe was deliberate)... it kind of ends on a creepy note! Still, those two could give Jack and Rose (Titanic) a run for their money on steaming up car windows. Whew!*The only non-paranormal story in this antho.+ Little Red's Big Bad by Saranna DeWylde - Rating: AMiranda, a U.S. Marshal, is being taunted by a serial killer. But not just any serial killer--one that believes he's a werewolf. Tasked with hunting him down, Miranda is joined in the hunt by Aden, an agent with the FBI. When they become trapped in a cabin, surrounded by giant snow drifts with no way out, Miranda and Aden put the case on the back burner and give in to their burning lust.Little Red's Big Bad was full of awesome drama and absorbs you into the chase immediately. The chemistry between Miranda and Aden is immediate too. It's there, quietly simmering, until it finally boils over. So hot. I also really enjoyed how the psychological condition of lycanthropy played a big part. Is there or isn't there actual werewolves? Smart twist on it. And the ending, well, I'll admit I actually aww'd out loud. I plan to check out Miz DeWylde's PNR series, 10 Days, as soon as possible!-- A Romantic Book Affairs Review

NOTHING ELSE MATTERS by Megan HartIn the first book of the "Hot and Haunted" anthology, we visit with Lira and Anthony after the world has been attacked and virus has been spread killing humans only to resurrect them to spread the virus even more. Kira, Anthony and a few other humans have taken refuge in a Synagogue and Kira is their only salvation. The only one who has come in contact with the virus and has survived. That is, until she meets Mac, a soldier who has defected and is trying to warn any humans he can that the military has decided to wipe out everyone in an attempt to stop the virus from spreading.I love anthologies. The stories are short and to the point. Ms. Hart had this storyline moving constantly. It was quick, witty and packed with some really hot sex. It was also a love story between Kira and Anthony ... a story about trust and love. The only way Kira can get the sight and sounds of the Resurrected from her mind is with sex. Sex with Anthony and then sex with Mac after he rescued her. Something they both needed. When Mac shows up at the Synagogue, Anthony knows but he loves Kira enough to understand why and move forward and trusting Mac to get them all to safety.PICK ME UP by Lauren HawkeyeWell, I was a little confused with this story in "Hot and Haunted". That is, until the end. Ms. Hawkeye kept you on your toes throughout this little ditty. Brody finds Holly stranded during a torrential rain storm, almost hitting her with his car. But, was she really stranded, what is her end-game? Holly goes from hot to cold, sexy to embarrassed, sane then insane throughout the story. Brody is an optometrist, a little geeky and falling for the act that Holly is putting on.See, Holly's fiancee cheated on her (I think) so she is out looking to get her revenge on him with a stranger. Standing in the middle of the road with a white dress on, she plans on stopping the next vehicle that comes by - male or female - it didn't matter to her. Brody swerves to miss hitting her and ends up in a ditch. Taking Holly into the car starts her plan and her seduction. Everything ends with them rolling around in the mud, with Brody giving orders and Holly begging for more. But, was Brody set up, is she really who she says she is, is her fiancee really the one in the pick-up truck?Yes, this story is a real mind-f***! I'm still not sure what Holly was up to or if the stories she told Brody were real or not. The writing was clever and fast-paced and really had you thinking throughout. Is there an HEA, well probably not for Brody!LITTLE RED'S BIG BAD by Saranna DeWyldeYum, werewolves! Hot werewolves, sexy werewolves, bad werewolves. Gotta love em!In the final story in "Hot and Haunted" we get to meet red-headed U.S. Marshal Miranda Garrick who has been called in to track escaped serial killer Dean Harvey Webster. Enter FBI Special Agent Aden Brewster. Miranda works alone but really has no choice but to allow Aden to help in the investigation. What happens in the snow-bound cabin is wild, fun and oh, so very, very hot.Aden has leads on Dean that can't be ignored and leads the two of them to the cabin in Alexandria, MN. Aden is hinting at Dean being a werewolf - preparing her for what is to come. She's not convinced but becomes a little concerned when all the wolves start howling as they are making their way to the cabin in the whiteout. After a wonderful night in front of the fire, with Aden showing Miranda that "skin to skin is the best way to keep warm", all hell breaks lose. Dean has found them only after Miranda makes a big mistake in judgment. What happens is fast, furious and eye-opening to Miranda. But, what she still does not know is that she has been bitten 3 times.I loved "Little Red's Big Bad". It was witty, playful and fun. Ms. DeWylde kept the action moving and the sex hot and heavy making this quick, erotic read a real joy!Review copy provided for an honest review.

Three sexy, creepy stories to steam you up!Nothing Else Matters, by Megan Hart, is the story of Lira, a survivor of the apocalypse. The world has gone to hell and the only way Lira knows to escape the terror is through sex. Anthony, a fellow survivor, is the man she turns to when she needs to turn her brain off and her body on. The author did a fantastic job of writing very steamy and easy-to-visualize scenes. This story definitely makes me want to read more from Hart.Pick Me Up, by Lauren Hawkeye, was the story I was most excited to read. I am a huge fan of her book, My Wicked Gladiators, so my hopes were high. I did like this, but I spent the first chapter or so completely confused as to what was going on. Regardless of what the situation was, the sex was great, as I've come to expect from the author. Once the big shocker was dropped, the twist that made Pick Me Up so creepy, I was hooked. To read a story with alternating dread and being turned on was an interesting experience.Little Red's Big Bad was such a mind trip. It started out like a freaking scene from The Silence of the Lambs and I did NOT think I was going to enjoy it at all. But then the focus switched to Miranda and Aden, two Federal Agents trying to capture a serial killer. The scenes between these two were fantastic. Miranda was basically panting after Aden from the moment they meet, not even able to keep her hands off herself while thinking of him. OH, and I learned about an iPhone app that I never even dreamed existed! As you might have guessed, there were elements to Little Red Riding Hood, and I loved it! So even though Little Red's Big Bad started out iffy for me, the awesome sexual encounters and the surprise ending made me love it.Hot and Haunted is three short, sexy stories that will leave you surprised and breathless.
