Indispensable. The only downside: some Bulgarian fonts completely change the letters, so if this book had the 'written fonts included, which you see everywhere in signs, packaging, and restaurants, it would be extremely helpful.

Good reference - probably would have been easier to have one index instead of 'Food' separate - had to figure out where to look - couldn't find lots of words but didn't expect small book to have everything! Pictures of signs would have been nice - crylillic alphabet on signs looked different than in book - but overall good investment - used it a lot & almost learned alphabet.

Same as other reviewers, it's hard to find what you are looking for. Thankfully, SO many people in Bulgaria speak English! Even the ones who don't know enough to get by! What a treat! I didn't have to pull out the book once! :)

I used a few of the phrases out of the book, it was useful

Pocket sized and easy to use.This was a really helpful book for my short 9-day trip to Bulgaria, but it's written for a stay of a few months. I left it behind in the country with a friend who will be there longer. Most of the words and phrases I needed were here, and the book layout was thought through.LP spends a whole chapter up front describing the alphabet and phrase building, which is interesting, but just marginally helpful for a short trip. From that perspective it would been handy to have a more lengthy lexicon of phrases up front to get around on the fly.The pronunciation guides were good and easy to follow. My suggestion would be to dedicate an entire quick reference section up front for the most needed phrases and words.

My fiancée is Bulgarian. I got this book so I could speak a little Bulgarian when I went to meet her family. When I showed her this book she actually got offended at how badly the book had butchered her mother language and she's a really laid back person! She looked through the book and found all sorts of wrong words, spelling mistakes, grammar mistakes, pronunciation errors, or words that might have been common in the 1960's but are now no longer in use. Would not recommend!!!!

A true gem of a book, circa 20’s as it’s just after WWI but before the Great Depression, but don’t let that discourage you, it’s a genuine period piece by an author who can speak horse and cattle. Loveable hero who can’t hold his drink, great characters and story that’ll keep you engaged. Must read - John Wayne would be proud to act this out :-)

The entire book was average, but as written it makes no more than 4 stars. I have read most novels written by this author and this one does not compare to the others. Most chapters are a repeat of the previous one, with exception of name change. It gives the reader the opinion that the author Frank Roderus needed another book & just threw this one together.Come on Frank you’re better than this.

Most of the westerns I have been reading are set in the 19th century. This was a refreshing story from the 20th century...Still lots of cowboys, but some automobiles appearing, and some newer weapons as well.The story line was somewhat predictable, but not as much as usual. It really kept me wanting to keep on reading much longer than I usually do at one sitting. Good job Mr. Roderus!

My first book by Frank Roderus, but it couldn't have been better. The plot was imaginative, intricate (not likely you will see the end coming), and fit with the post WW I period, the characters were believable and not all of them were portrayed in the usual all good or all bad style, and the writing was superb. I came away from the read with the belief that Mr. Roderus spent time crafting his paragraphs, and I certainly enjoyed reading them.I look forward to more books by this author.

ExcellentI really enjoyed the style and manner of speech Mr. Riders used in his writing. At 80 I related to his story and it reminded me of my father and his reminiscing about his youthful adventures. Not a typical Zane Grey novel but a very refreshing style and plot.

Very good story but if you are looking for a wild shoot out this book isn't for you but this a believable story. It is a story about Times just beginning to change from the horse to the automobile.

The book was a very good read enjoyed the different turns and twists that main characters went through to accomplish the goals they had. Great ending of the book, would read a sequel if written

The information in this book is great. I am a novice gardener and I found the perfect book of knowledge for my new interest. That being said, the digital formatting and editing of this book is horrendous. There are entire pages that repeat themselves two and three times, and pages I can barely read because the sentences edge the pages. I have tried every setting possible, in both Kindle and Samsung settings and it's just the way the book was set.

Outstanding book. Truly helpful.One tip I found that I thought I would share here is the use of black vinyl pool bags for your greenhouse. These bags are used by swimming pool owners to weigh down their pool covers in the winter, they come in 8' and 10' lengths and they work wonderfully to absorb the heat during the day and give it off at night in a greenhouse. They usually come in two colors, blue and black. And, since they are smaller than a 55 gallon drum, they lay flat, and can be adjusted to fit around plants, they are truly great additions. Another great feature is that they heat up quickly during a winter day, whereas big drums do not. Give them a try in your greenhouse, I think you will really like them.

This is a great book for basic information on greenhouse gardening but I would have preferred more information on general bedding lay-outs and less information on using barrels of water to generate more solar heat. Since I live in the desert that information seemed fairly redundant for my needs and was quite extensively covered in the book. The materials used in the book are very affordable as are suggestions for maximizing your growing space and creating the most productive garden possible. It also covered some areas in standard outdoor gardening, but again, I was interested in the greenhouse specifics and think that a future book focusing on only greenhouse methods with more versatility for desert coverage as well would be even more beneficial. Good book in general and well written!

I am a fairly new gardener. Me and my husband are getting more into the homesteading...growing our own fruits and veggies and eventually raising our own goats, chickens and rabbits.I wasn't sure I would want to do greenhouse gardening, but after looking through all the interesting and helpful tips and instructions I think I will love greenhouse gardening much more than traditional gardening for the simple fact that I have much more flexibility in my growing season and can grow all year long.

Shane Smith gives important basic information about passive solar design and production in a winter growing space. When I first started out, four years ago, it was the one book I was flipping through daily. I grow vegetables in winter in Minnesota, so I figured a guy in Wyoming would understand my challenges of weather conditions and day length. This made his planting schedules a useful tool. I did read this one cover to cover and then referenced certain sections again and again in those first two years. If you are thinking about building a greenhouse or just got one, add this book to your library and you won't be sorry. He'll show you how to save some money by applying passive solar design elements to your structure that will save you money in heating costs and make your growing space more productive and fun. As to the comments one reviewer posted about Smith's aversion to hydroponics, I happen to concur with the author. I like working with soil. I don't care if hydroponics has gone "organic." It still creates waste water that must be dealt with and lacks the beneficial fungus interactions that soil provides for plant roots on a cellular level. At least Smith's upfront about his preference and there are plenty of resource materials out there for folks who want to work with hydroponic systems. This book is a plain and simple introduction to greenhouse growing that makes it accessible to beginners. I still flip through it from time to time and always find some tidbit I can use to improve things in my own growing space.

Excellent! Received the greenhouse for Christmas - a total surprise. I'm a beginner outdoor gardner. This easy-to-read, spiced with humorous comments, and VERY informative book has been my guide to managing my greenhouse. The book is packed with charts/tables that summarize information about sowing, planting, transplanting plants, etc. It covers vegetables and flowering plants.There are example record-keeping pages. It has straight-forward information about the greenhouse environment. I also use it as a reference for growing vegetables in our outdoor vegetable beds. There is so much information that even an experienced greenhouse gardener will pick up useful facts and tips.

This is a great reference book on building greenhouses and growing plants in the greenhouse. I am a beginner at greenhouse gardening and am finding this book invaluable, and chock full of great information, as well as references as to where to find resources for seeds, and greenhouse supplies. Hats off to the author, wonderful job!!! A must for every garden library!!!

My kids love "Gumball", and my son has also come to love non-fiction books. This one is definitely not one to read to a kid -- the kid has to read it by himself to even appreciate the attempts at humor -- and the science facts are those you'd find in any book of "interesting facts", and are offered in small doses... Far inferior to the "Gumball" comics and the "Gumball" cartoon (which can be genius at times).

My 8 year old son loves Gumball. Nice sturdy hardback book, color photos. My son thinks it is hysterical and reads it quite often.

I enjoy it when a kid's show like The Amazing World of Gumball teaches kids too and science is no exception! This book has a humorous and educational look into the world of science as only Gumball can tell you! Well, really Darwin (Gumball offers silly comments). Gumball's Guide to Science features your favorite Gumball characters teaching you many scientific studies and tools used in everyday life such as hypothesis, periodic elements, research, biology, and so much more! Plus, great science experiments for the little scientists. A great teaching tool and a great read for the Gumball fan, science learner, or even both! Highly recommended.

My son loves Gumball. He read this book in a couple of hours though. It was really short.

Not cheap, but provides a useful tool for added comprehension of the Code, and helps drive home the fact that any given issue is typically addressed by several disparate sections of the Code. The illustrations are handy as an aid in quickly understanding and reviewing the material. I bought it as a study guide for an inspector exam, and found it quite useful for that purpose. I think it'll be handy in explaining the code to others, as well.

This is the best NEC companion you can buy. I have the hardback for an older version but bought the Kindle edition of the new one - I was a little worried about the Kindle edition, but I'm glad I went with it - the Kindle version is more portable (obviously) and I have found it easier to read than the printed version. Whichever version you get, this is a great reference and really helps illustrate the code.

Only reason this doesn’t get a 5 star review is because it’s for an outdated code book. I bought this with my updated 2017 code book and this illustrated guide is basically the same book I bought years ago with my old code book.That being said, it is informative, the illustrations are top notch, and for a visual learner like myself, I appreciate the depth in which this book goes to help you understand the code.

I am working with an electrician but doing the bulk of my own wiring and this has been invaluable. It isn't a how to guide but it shows what you need to do to comply with the NEC. I still use my wiring books for wiring diagrams and instructions on technique. I especially like the clarity of the pictures. There is a lot in the book that is beyond my skill/comfort level but I like reading through that part too to get an idea of what my electrician is doing. It is well organized with a concise intro at the beginning of each chapter and a summary and quiz at the end.

It is a helpful guide for an amateur to do some wiring. I do wish that in certain areas it would include some tables and more info. The illustrations are helpful in understanding the intent of the NEC.

This is a very good study guide, it is not a replacement for an actual NEC book. On a job site it is great since it is indexed by application (IE if you are doing commercial work just flip to the commercial section). if you are looking up a reference (such as notes from an inspector or on prints) it is useless unless you already know what that NEC number is.

Devra Lehmann’s books is simply the best I ever read about Spinoza’s life (and I have read a bunch of them). For me the most important philosopher in the modern world. Introduced thoughts about how we are bound to G-d. Unfortunately the jewish community (or call it, the Rabbinate), never took actions to terminate his excomungation which is a loss for our community per se. I would love to meet Devra personally just to thank her infinitely for the reading she has provided. In my opinion, the best read so far for 2018.

I love this book. The historical perspective and learning philosophy on a level that was easy to follow, made this a really great book. I know it's geared to young adults, but at 52, I still enjoyed the educational and enjoyment experience. This would be a great book club book!

I have read that Einstein "believed" in Spinoza's God, and reading this biography I can well understand why. The author's writing is clear and engaging and she isn't prejudiced as to what the reader should think. I am not young be any stretch, but I love well written texts intended for young people who desire wisdom.

Excellent book and definitely not just for young adults. Devra Lehmann manages to create a page turner, that teaches so much about history and philosophy at the same time. A must read.

This book is so engaging that any one can pick it up and learn to think like a philosopher. As a teacher, I can see the book as a wonderful way to introduce students to a new way of thinking.

This book is readable enough to be accessible to an interested lay person with a serious interest in the history of Lutheran Christianity. You should have a copy of one of the translations of the Book of Concord, also.This book covers the portions of the Lutheran Book of Concord in chronological order and provides the background and story of the conferences and other circumstances that produced each work.My Pastor is currently leading a Bible study on the Book of Concord, and he is covering the material thematically rather than portion by portion (such as, for instance, he tracks material on Baptism throughout the various portions rather than covering The Augsburg Confession by itself and then the Apology to the Augsburg Confession by itself, and the Smalcald Articles by themselves, etc).I have been really searching for good information on each portion and its history because I have still been confused by the difference between, say, the Augsburg Confession and the Smalcald Articles.When I finish all 600 or so pages of this work (and this book is informative and interesting enough that I will finish), I will know a substantial amount about each portion and will be able to distinguish one from another, which is a big step for me.There are many, many interesting quotations from letters and statements by those attending the conferences and other events that produced the documents in the Book of Concord. It is amazing that so much material such as so many letters from the participants still exists. The author did an immense amount of research to dig it all up and quote from it. To some extent, the reader gets to know the participants who are historically important in the history of Lutheran Christianity and the stands that they took on the various doctrinal controversies of the day.I am very happy that I found this book on Amazon. I am learning a lot.
