MATLAB is incorporated as the basic software tool for this self-study guide. The Study Guide, along with the textbook, can be used by students, practicing engineers, and scientists who wish to obtain an introduction to the subject. It can also be used by people who have had a basic undergraduate course in DSP but who have not been exposed to DSP software tools, such as MATLAB, for analyzing and implementing DSP systems and algorithms. For effective learning of the material and for understanding difficult concepts in DSP, it is important to integrate software tools with textual study. This integration makes it possible for students to simulate signals, systems (or filters), or algorithms and provides for "what-if" type of analyses to delve more deeply into the topics. This Study Guide, designed with this approach in mind, uses MATLAB as the tool. In addition to learning each topic, concept, or algorithm, the student should make every effort to use the provided MATLAB functions to develop a stronger intuition and a deeper understanding of the material. The Study Guide treats traditional topics covered in an introductory DSP course. In each chapter of the Study Guide, the reader is directed to review the topics covered in the corresponding chapter of the textbook. The basic topics and results treated in each chapter of the textbook are summarized in the Study Guide, and the relevant MATLAB functions to be used in solving problems are introduced. At the end of each chapter of the Study Guide is a set of problems that the reader should solve, using MATLAB. Solutions to these problems are included in the Study Guide. The DSP textbook also contains numerous problems at the end of each chapter. Many of these problems can also be solved by using MATLAB. If additional practice is desirable, the reader is encouraged to solve some of these problems in MATLAB. The various MATLAB functions cited in the Study Guide are available at the location ftp://ftp.cdsp.neu.edu/pub/ingle/I&P_dsp_toolbox These functions require MATLAB version 5 or higher and the signal toolbox version 3 or higher. I always appreciate desserts with easy to find desserts ingredients that will please my family. So many ways to Add different ingredient flavors with basic instructions that I enjoy. Couple of them used recipe listing a churner setting with manufacturer instructions which I do not have but some much of other ingredients I do use . With a little extra thought I will ask friends what they do to substitute an ice cream churner . Mr. Kuma has again and again written easy to follow recipes.

I still like to have recipe books being that it makes it easy to find what you're looking for (and even discover new recipes you didn't know you were looking for) What I like about this one is that it introduces you to new combinations you would have never thought of on your own. I would have liked to have seen them incorporate the use of a Vitamix in variations of the recipes since that blender has an ice cream mode.

 Easy recipes and many don't even require special equipment other than a blender. My daughter is an art major and loves drawing faces in many mediums. this is a great addition to her drawing books and helps you see different perspectives on faces in detail. It actually teaches you how to as many books just show you general steps. LOVE! especially if you are a classic movie watcher like we are. Very cool...includes men as well and accessories like hats from the 40s, 50s, etc.

This book has enough detail of how the faces were drawn to help me simplify my drawings. I tend to overdo them but this book made me think about composition and simplicity. I like how it has people of all ages and time periods. I have done at least a half dozen of the pictures so far and HIGHLY recommend this book. BTW I am a senior citizen who really just got into drawing about 19 years ago so this works for us other ones also.

wish there was more on how to create these hair styles and a few more views of them

They dont tell you how little content there actually is in this. I was better off getting instructions my my anatomy book.

This book was purchased to replace a (lost) copy I bought back in the '70s. If you would like to draw dogs without taking an art course or getting lessons, this is a great way to go. Books like this never become truly obsolete. It was good then and is good now.

I have read all of Ms. de Blasi's memoirs. I love them. Very relaxing and real feeling. Better than your average travel literature. She's a good writer. This particular book was not quite as compelling as the others. Some of the chapters I felt I had read before in the other books in her Italian series. Still it was like being with an old friend. Oh, to sit at their rustica for the foraged Thursday feast, both for the food as well as the soul of living!

I just loved this book. The relationships between these women, the connections with their community and their love of good food and wine make for a great read. I was transported to Italy as I read it and I have recommended it to many female friends. It's a very special book.

As always, Marlena de Blasi paints a vivid picture of life in her part of Italy. The food they cooked sounds so wonderful, and the narrative plus the recipes at the end of the book make this food fairly accessible - if one can find the right ingredients locally.

I love all of Marlena's books. Makes me feel like I am really in Italy! I would recommend reading her earlier books about meeting her husband in Venice and then when they lived in Tuscany...before you read this one. Several of the characters make more sense if you know some of the background on them. I can't wait to try some of the recipes!

Having read several of these tales by Marlena De Blasi, I was expecting a similar format - wonderful stories of unique and enigmatic characters from the countryside along with the camaraderie around tables of tantalizing meals. And certainly, the detailed recipes.I found the background stories on each character too lengthy - each was more of a short story in itself. Took away from the development of the central story for too long. So the continuity was lost.And some of the dishes chosen to explain and prepare were not that appealing to me. Unlike other books where I was anxious to prepare the menus, no matter how complicated. Surely there are more delectable Italian creations with wider appeal that have not been chosen in previous novels.In spite of these minor objections, I found the book enjoyable and revealed more of a special part of Itlay. It was indeed an Italian feast.

Marlena de Blasi never disappoints! The beauty of her prose makes you feel as if you are in Italy, immersing yourself in the culture that she has embraced. I've read all of her books - recommended each one enthusiastically to friends, and anxiously await more!

Good book about Umbrian cooking and life. It's very specific, so if you so not do not know Italy well, or this region, it may be quite tedious. I speak Italian and have traveled almost every region...could not really finish the book as the narrative was tedious and feminine centric. Good recipes and somewhat interesting narrative.
